WIND FARMS

Wind farms are part of the clean tech industry. Wind farms are a group of wind turbines (shown below) that help produce clean energy for us. Take a look at a wind farm that's located in central California.

Offshore Wind Farms

While this wind farm is on land, there are also wind farms offshore. For instance, Cppenhagen has some offshore wind turbines. The UK is charging forward with wind farms. There's a plan to light every home in the UK by using offshore wind farms. Currently, this wind farm plan is set to be completed by 2020.

United States Wind Farms

While the USA tends to get flak in the "green" area, it is actually doing a lot to help push clean tech forward. Currently, the USA is only 2nd to Germany in installed wind power capacity. Wind farms in the USA are nothing new either. They started popping up in the 1970s.

And the USA has the largest wind farm in the world. It's located in Taylor County, Texas. It consists of 421 wind turbines and generates 735 megawatts. This wind farm is a huge set up and perhaps a signal of what the future holds. Before the Texas wind farm, the largest wind farm had less than half its capacity.
